 The official and most secure way to download Windows 11 is directly from Microsoft's website. There are three main options available, each suited for different scenarios: the Installation Assistant, the Media Creation Tool, or a direct ISO file download.



Before you begin
Before downloading, use Microsoft's PC Health Check app to confirm that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11. While unofficial workarounds exist for incompatible hardware, it is not recommended by Microsoft. 
Option 1: Windows 11 Installation Assistant
This is the best choice if you are upgrading the PC you are currently using. 
  1. Go to the Download Windows 11 page on the Microsoft website.
  2. In the "Windows 11 Installation Assistant" section, click Download Now.
  3. Run the downloaded tool and follow the on-screen instructions to begin the upgrade. Your PC will restart to complete the installation. 
Option 2: Create installation media
Use the Media Creation Tool to create a bootable USB flash drive (at least 8GB) or DVD. This is ideal for performing a clean installation on a new or different PC. 
  1. On the Download Windows 11 page, click Download Now under "Create Windows 11 Installation Media".
  2. Launch the tool and follow the prompts to select your language and edition.
  3. Choose either a USB flash drive or ISO file as your media option.
  4. If creating a USB, insert the blank flash drive and select it from the list. The tool will download the files and create the bootable media. 

Option 3: Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO)
This option allows you to directly download the Windows 11 ISO file. You can then use it to create a bootable installation drive using a third-party utility like Rufus, or use it for a virtual machine. 
  1. Go to the Download Windows 11 page.
  2. Scroll down to the "Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO)" section.
  3. Choose "Windows 11 (multi-edition ISO for x64 devices)" from the dropdown and click Download.
  4. Select your desired product language and click Confirm.
  5. Click the 64-bit Download button that appears to start the download.
